Data 360 credit calculator Beta
Answer a few plain-language questions about your data and what you want to do with it. The calculator turns them into usage, prices it in dollars on Flex Credits, and shows the formula behind every number.
This is a beta, not a finished calculator
I'm sharing it early so you can try it and see how it works, but there's still a lot of work ahead. Some rules are simplified, some are my assumptions where Salesforce doesn't document the billing, and the numbers can be off. Don't use it as a precise model of your bill or as the basis for a contract.

How we got these numbers
Each line is one billable activity. Quantities come from your answers; edit any of them to use your own figure.
| Activity | Per month | One-time | Flex usage type | With a Profiles license |
|---|
Add a usage type your answers don't cover
Salesforce-only ingestion (if you want it split out from external batch), federation, data shares, Private Connect, streaming activations and code extensions. Enter monthly amounts directly.
Flex Credits by usage type
Flex pools activities into fewer usage types and prices each on monthly tiers: the more credits a usage type consumes in a month, the cheaper the next ones.
| Usage type | Typical month | Tier reached | First month | Tier reached |
|---|
What this calculator assumes
- A month is 30 days and year one is the first month plus eleven typical months.
- The initial load arrives in batch in the first month: every row is transformed and unified once.
- Batch ingestion is free on Flex regardless of refresh mode, so this calculator doesn't ask about it.
- Identity resolution runs daily and only reprocesses new or modified source profiles after the first run.
- Segmentation and activation use the "records processed per segment" figure you enter directly, since Salesforce doesn't clearly document whether joins to related objects for segment criteria add to the row count billed, and community answers disagree on it. It's never counted as fewer than your profile count, since a segment reads the whole population at least once regardless of the filter.
- Batch transforms run incrementally after the first run.
- Data graph refreshes are priced as Data Queries, since Salesforce doesn't publish which usage type meters them. Every refresh recomputes every record the graph reads, with no incremental mode.
Questions
Why is something missing from the Flex total?
Federation rows accessed, data shares, Private Connect and inferences are not on the Flex rate card for Data 360. Salesforce does not say whether they are free, folded into another type or billed elsewhere, so the calculator lists them instead of guessing. Get the answer from your account executive in writing. Batch ingestion from external sources is missing from the rate card too, but it is free on Flex, so it counts as zero.
How is the Profiles license priced here?
At the price per 1,000 profiles per year from step 3 (list price unless you change it). The count is your unique people, or every profile record when identity resolution is off. The real billable count also includes 4% of anonymous profiles and records in profile-category DLOs that are not resolved, so treat it as a floor. The license sits on top of Flex Credits, so the usage it does not cover (streaming, queries, real-time and more) is priced on Flex.
Is there another calculator?
Yes. Isaac Shaffer's community Data Cloud credit calculator estimates Data Services credits row by row, for orgs still on that model. This one focuses on Flex Credits, the credit type behind every new Data 360 contract, plus the Profiles license and a plain-language mode.
